The Safety Net
Safety Net terms
Complete everything in your plan and don't pass the NPPE? You get your money back, plus free access to prepare again. Here is exactly what counts, and how to claim.
Which plans it covers
The Safety Net comes with the NPPE Safety Net plan, and with the NPPE Guided plan, which includes everything in Safety Net. It covers those plans bought on or after 29 September 2026, at full price or with a discount code, by card or with Pay in 4 with Klarna.*
Until 11 October 2026 the Safety Net and its plan were called Pass Assurance. Only the name changed: a plan bought under that name since 29 September 2026 has exactly these terms.
It doesn't cover the NPPE Practice Questions plan, the free trial, monthly plans, or plans bought before 29 September 2026, including the earlier 6-month plan sold under the old name.
What you need to finish before your sitting
All four, in your own NPPE Pro account, before the first day of the sitting you claim for. Not sure whether you've finished something? Email support@nppepro.ca before your sitting and we'll tell you what's left.
Every lesson
Every lesson in every topic of the learning path, finished.
Every practice question
Every question in the practice question bank answered at least once. A wrong answer still counts as answering it.
Every flashcard
Every flashcard reviewed at least once.
All 4 mock exams
All 4 full mock exams taken and submitted. Your scores don't matter, only that each one is finished.
Leave yourself time to finish
Finishing everything means lessons on all 52 topics, all 580 practice questions, every flashcard and 4 mock exams of 100 to 110 questions, each on a 2.5-hour timer. That is weeks of steady study, not a weekend.
If your sitting is only a few weeks away, NPPE Practice Questions may suit you better. It costs less, and it has nothing to finish first because it doesn't include the Safety Net.
The sitting you claim for
You write the NPPE while your plan is active, or in a sitting that starts no more than 30 days after your access ends, and you finish everything above before that sitting's first day.
Your official result, from your regulator or the exam's administrator, says you did not pass. If you don't sit the exam, withdraw from it, or your result is withheld or cancelled, there is no result to claim on.
How to claim

We check our records that every lesson, practice question, flashcard and mock exam was finished before your sitting, and reply within 10 business days. If something is missing, we tell you exactly what.

You get your money back
Once we approve your claim, we send your refund within 14 days and open your new Safety Net access period when you're ready to start it.
What you get
Your money back. Everything you paid NPPE Pro for the plan, including tax and any upgrade payment into it. If you used a discount code, it's what you actually paid. We refund it to the way you paid, within 14 days of approving your claim.
Paid with Pay in 4 with Klarna? We refund the purchase through Klarna, which applies it to your payments under Klarna's terms.*
Free access to prepare again. A new 3-month Safety Net access period, at no cost, which you can start any time in the 12 months after your claim is approved. On the Guided plan, the second round is the Safety Net plan: the two 30-minute sessions with a P.Eng. aren't repeated.
Your account and your progress stay as they are, so the second round starts where you left off.
When a claim isn't accepted
We can't accept a claim when:
- Something in your plan wasn't finished before the first day of your sitting.
- The work was done in someone else's account, by someone other than you, or by a script or other tool rather than by you.
- The claim reaches us more than 30 days after the date on your official result.
- You've already made a Safety Net claim. It applies once per person, and the second round doesn't carry it again.
- The payment was disputed or charged back through your card issuer or Klarna.*
The rest of the terms
The Safety Net is a promise about your money, not about your result. No one can promise that you will pass the NPPE, and NPPE Pro doesn't. NPPE Pro is an independent study platform. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or approved by any engineering or geoscience regulator, or by the administrators of the NPPE.
These terms are part of your purchase, together with the CertNova Terms and Conditions. Where the two differ, these terms apply to the Safety Net. The Safety Net is in addition to your rights under consumer protection law, including the law of the province you live in, and doesn't limit them.
We may change these terms for plans bought later. A plan keeps the terms that applied on the day it was bought. Last updated 11 October 2026.
We use your result only to decide your claim. Once it's decided, we delete the copy you sent and keep only a note of the decision.
If we decline a claim, we tell you why and what our records show. Reply to that email and we'll look again.
The Safety Net is offered by CertNova Software Solutions Inc., which makes NPPE Pro. Questions: support@nppepro.ca or +1 (306) 539-1637.
*See Canadian payment terms. A higher initial payment may be required for some consumers.
Questions people ask

What counts as completing everything?
Every lesson finished, every practice question answered at least once, every flashcard reviewed at least once, and all 4 mock exams submitted, all before the first day of your sitting. Your scores don't matter.
