On your phone
An NPPE app that runs in your phone's browser
NPPE Pro is a web app. Open it on any phone, tablet or computer, sign in, and carry on where you left off. There is nothing to install.
Why NPPE Pro is a web app, not an app store download
NPPE Pro is a web app rather than a native app. You open it in the browser you already use, sign in, and study. There is no app store download, no install and no update to wait for, and the same account works on every device, so you can do a session on the bus and sit a mock exam at your desk that evening.
Because your work is saved to your account rather than to the device, your study plan, streak, readiness score and the questions waiting in your review queue are the same wherever you sign in. If you change phones or borrow a laptop, nothing is lost.
To be clear about what it is not: NPPE Pro is not listed in the App Store or Google Play, and it needs an internet connection to work. If an app store listing or offline study matters to you, that is a real difference to weigh when you compare options.
Your plan to exam day, on your phone
Tell NPPE Pro which sitting you are writing and it counts back from that date. Open it on your phone and the Home view shows the days to your exam, today's task and about how long it will take, so you know what the session is for before you start.
The plan moves through four stages: learn the topics, practise and review, mock exams, then a final week. It tells you whether you are ahead, on track or behind, and reminders by email and in the app help keep the daily session from slipping off your list.

A study session that fits a coffee break
A session is a few lesson cards and 10 questions, about 15 minutes. Lessons and practice sessions are sized for a phone, so one fits a commute or a queue. Tap an answer and the explanation appears for every option, including why the tempting wrong ones are wrong.
Short sessions are what make a phone useful for NPPE prep. The study plan spreads the topics across the weeks to your sitting and its pace check tells you whether one session a day is enough, and a question you miss comes back on later days until you answer it correctly twice in a row.
The NPPE itself is written on a computer, and since June 2026 candidates also need a phone or tablet as a second camera. Study wherever suits you, but sit at least one of the mock exams at a computer to rehearse the real setting. See the NPPE exam format.

Questions people ask
More answers in the NPPE FAQ.
Do I need to download an app to use NPPE Pro?
No. NPPE Pro runs in the web browser on your phone, tablet or computer, so there is nothing to download from an app store and nothing to install. Open the site, sign in, and your plan, progress and review queue are there on whichever device you use.
Does NPPE Pro work on iPhone and Android?
Yes. NPPE Pro works in the browser on iPhone and Android phones and tablets, as well as on Windows and Mac computers. It is not listed in the App Store or Google Play because it is a web app, and your progress is saved to your account rather than to one device.
Can I use NPPE Pro offline?
No. NPPE Pro needs an internet connection, because your answers, review queue and progress are saved to your account as you go. That is also what lets you switch between phone, tablet and computer without losing anything. If you study on a commute, check you have a connection before starting a mock exam.
Can I take the full mock exams on my phone?
Yes. All 4 mock exams run on a phone, on the same 2.5-hour timer, with the strengths and gaps report afterwards. The NPPE itself is written on a computer, so sitting at least one mock at a computer is a useful rehearsal for the real setting.
Can I use NPPE Pro on my phone?
Yes. NPPE Pro runs in the browser on any phone, tablet or computer, and your progress follows your account. Lessons and practice sessions are sized for a phone, so a session fits on a commute or a lunch break. There is nothing to install.
How much time do I need each day?
It depends on the weeks to your sitting. A session takes about 15 minutes: a few lesson cards and 10 questions. With eight weeks to go, most days need one or two sessions while you learn the topics; start earlier and one a day is often enough. The plan's pace check tells you which.
Is there a free trial?
Yes. You can start NPPE Pro free without a credit card. The 14-day trial starts from your first finished lesson, so signing up early costs you nothing, and it opens a set of free topics, practice questions and a short mock exam preview.
Is NPPE Pro affiliated with my regulator or the NPPE?
No. NPPE Pro is an independent study platform built by CertNova, the team behind CBA Pro and competencybasedassessment.ca. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or approved by any engineering or geoscience regulator, or by the administrators of the NPPE.
Your first session takes fifteen minutes.
Tell NPPE Pro your sitting and it builds the plan. The 14-day trial starts from your first finished lesson, and no card is needed.
