NPPE Pro is built by CertNova, the Canadian team behind CBA Pro and competencybasedassessment.ca. Those two help P.Eng applicants with the competency-based assessment, the part of a licence application that documents your work experience. NPPE Pro covers another requirement in the same application: the NPPE.

NPPE Pro applies the same idea to a different requirement: study what the exam actually tests, measure where you stand, and spend your time on the gaps rather than rereading what you already know. It is built for candidates studying around a full-time job, people writing the exam again after a fail, and internationally trained engineering graduates who are new to Canadian law and ethics.

How NPPE Pro teaches

A plan to your date, a daily habit, two well-studied learning techniques, and readiness you can see rather than guess.

  • Plan to your date

    Pick your sitting and the study plan counts back from it in four stages: learn the topics, practise and review, mock exams, and a final week. Each day shows one task and whether you are ahead, on track or behind.

  • Short daily sessions

    A session is a few lesson cards or 10 questions, usually a few minutes. Steady daily study is easier to keep up beside a job than long weekend sessions.

  • Retrieval practice

    You learn by answering, not rereading. Every option on every question is explained, the right one and the ones you did not pick.

  • Spacing

    A question you miss comes back later in the session and again on later days, until you answer it correctly twice in a row.

  • Readiness by evidence

    Your readiness score for each domain combines coverage (topics studied) with mastery (accuracy), and each mock exam ends with a report of your strengths and gaps by topic.

What NPPE Pro is not

NPPE Pro is independent. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or approved by any engineering or geoscience regulator, or by the administrators of the NPPE. Exam facts on this site come from nppexam.ca and the regulators' own pages, and we link to them so you can check.

It is also deliberately plain about its limits. Nobody outside the exam can promise you a result, and the real NPPE questions are confidential, so no prep provider can show them to you. What NPPE Pro gives you is a plan, practice and an honest read on where you stand.

  • No pass guarantee, and no claim to know the real exam questions.
  • No AI tutor, no live classes and no human tutoring.
  • No native app: it runs in the browser on any phone, tablet or computer.

The exam NPPE Pro prepares you for

The National Professional Practice Examination is the law, ethics and professional practice exam that 14 Canadian engineering and geoscience regulators require for a licence such as the P.Eng or P.Geo. It has 110 multiple choice questions in 2.5 hours, is written online with a remote proctor, and runs 5 times a year. The pass mark is a scaled score of 65, which is not 65 percent.

Can I use NPPE Pro on my phone?

Yes. NPPE Pro runs in the browser on any phone, tablet or computer, and your progress follows your account. Lessons and practice sessions are sized for a phone, so a session fits on a commute or a lunch break. There is nothing to install.

Is there a free trial?

Yes. You can start NPPE Pro free without a credit card. The 14-day trial starts from your first finished lesson, so signing up early costs you nothing, and it opens a set of free topics, practice questions and a short mock exam preview.

Does NPPE Pro have an AI tutor or live classes?

No. NPPE Pro has no AI tutor, no live classes and no human tutoring. It is a self-paced platform: a study plan counted back from your sitting, short lessons, practice questions with every option explained, flashcards and timed mock exams. The reasoning for every answer is written into the question, so you see it straight after you answer.

Can NPPE Pro promise that I will pass the NPPE?

No. Nobody outside the exam can promise a result, and NPPE Pro does not. What it does is show your readiness by domain and your mock exam results against a 65% target, so you can judge when you are ready to book. That target is NPPE Pro's own: the real NPPE pass mark is a scaled score of 65, not 65 percent.

From nppexam.ca and each regulator's own website. The exam facts on this site were last checked on October 1, 2026, and pages that state exam facts link to their sources. Dates, fees, deadlines and attempt limits are set by the regulators and can change, so confirm them with your regulator before you register.
